Hello. My Name Is... Art Exhibition
Theme: The art requested is a box, with the outside of the box representing the person and how they 'present' themselves to the world and the inside of the box representing what they 'hold in' that burdens them, stresses them, weighs them down, etc. An artist’s statement will be included in the format of a name badge (ex. Hello. My name is Scott. I am a dentist. I am struggling with grief.)
Art Submission Details: Each box or container must not exceed a maximum of 18 inches in any direction. Any media is acceptable. If submitting electronically, any dimensions are allowed. To submit artwork or for any questions please contact Laura Clay at exhibitions.iata@gmail.com. The deadline for submissions is September 27, 2015. See Artist Contract below.
Goal: To help bring awareness to how anyone can be affected by mental illness/stress/be helped with counseling and art therapy, aiding in ending the stigmas associated.
Date: October 2nd 6-8pm Opening night reception: music & light refreshments served. Digital submissions will run within a slide show during the opening reception and be posted on-line (IATA & NoStigmas) after the opening night. Art will be on display October 2nd - October 23rd

Partnership: NoStigmas (a global non-profit movement utilizing Peer-2-Peer connections to promote mental wellness and prevent suicide. Our unique individual approach provides education, support systems and access to mental health resources at no cost. We empower a community of mental wellness through inspiring events, dynamic public speakers and stories of hope). NoStigmas has offered to promote the event within their social media venues.
Sol Sana Studio (a place for learning, creating, exploring ideas, and forming friendships. Whether it is soul-searching art therapy you seek, or a fun painting class on a weekend night with a group of friends, the studio offers a colorful selection of art making classes to choose from. In addition to fine art classes and art therapies, we offer jewelry making classes, food workshops, health and wellness events, and business seminars). Sol Sana Studio has donated their space to offer exhibition submission workshops (August 30th 2-4pm and September 13th 2-4pm).
