Illinois Based Art Therapy Licensure
IATA board spent the better part of 2023 gathering information and assessing the need to develop a IL state based art therapy license. As of January 2024, it is clear that the Illinois Counselors will be aligning their standards to the counseling compact, this move WILL impact art therapists in legal status, ability to practice, and access to licensure. We continue to invite community members to be part of this journey to help problem solve, and take actions to protect our rights to practice art therapy in the state of Illinois.
