​This position is to accomplish individualized goals for children and their families in the healthcare setting through the use of specifically planned therapeutic art interventions. These goals are established by individual assessments and the care team, and focus on physical, cognitive, psychosocial, and emotional needs. The Art Therapist will provide therapeutic art interventions to assist with the enhancement of growth and development, rehabilitation, relaxation, increased comfort, and diversion. This position will assist in meeting the psychosocial and developmental needs of children and their families. This position will also be responsible for supervision and training of Art Therapy students and providing collaboration and education within the department, hospital, and community
Responsibilities
  • Provide therapeutic art interventions to patients and family members that will enhance the individual's expression of feelings, increase self-awareness and promote positive coping of the health care experience.
  • Represent, communicate, and explain Art Therapy services appropriately to other professionals, volunteers, students and caregivers; work collaboratively with all parties as needed to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Participate in and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Art Therapy and 1-2 years experience
  • Registered Art Therapist (ATR) Required within 30 Days of hire
  • Board Certified (ATR-BC) through the Art Therapy Credentials Board Required within 1 Year of hire
Starting PayOur pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $20.47/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

We are a multilingual private practice in Chicago seeking a part-time or full-time Creative Arts Therapist to join us as an integral member of a collaborative team dedicated to guiding clients in growth and healing through trauma-informed counseling and creative arts therapy modalities. 


The creative arts therapist has the opportunity to work with individual adults, couples, children and families, and group therapy services, as well as wellness workshops for our clients and community partners.
This position has a minimum commitment of 15 direct service hours per week for in-person therapy at our Chicago Old Irving Park location, Ravenswood location, and/or teletherapy. Candidates with a desire for full-time employment with a minimum of 25 direct service hours per week are encouraged to apply.

Private Practice in Roscoe, IL
Position: Art Therapist

This is a small private practice. The ideal candidate has a provisional license (LPC, LSW, ALMFT) or be fully licensed (LCPC, LCSW, LMFT, PhD, PsyD). On site supervision will be provided by LCPC. It is a bonus if the candidate has Art Therapy training, Candidates must have experience working with individuals in 1:1 mental health therapy, conducting diagnostic assessments to formulate DSM 5 diagnoses and developing treatment plans to support therapeutic interventions. This position is ideal for clinicians who want to focus on providing quality therapeutic treatment while being a part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team. Some evening or weekend availability is required, but there is flexibility based on patient needs. We would prefer training in EMDR, DBT, Expressive therapies, Psychodrama, Shadow Work, Internal Family System & Jungian Psychology. The pay is based on what is collected by insurance payments. Rush Day School (RDS)

Position: Part-Time Art Therapist

Rush Day School (RDS), a nonpublic therapeutic day school, affiliated with Rush University Medical Center has an opening for an art therapist.  The art therapist provides art therapy to each of 4 classrooms with children ages 5-14.  The children that attend RDS struggle with symptoms of anxiety, mood disorders, and issues related to autism spectrum disorder.  Most of the students possess creative talents and enjoy art.  Currently, all four art groups occur on Wednesdays, but this is negotiable.  The school operates year round but is closed on school holidays, breaks, and most of the month of August.

Whole Village Art Therapy (New Orleans)
Position: Full-time Art Therapist

Mission: Whole Village Art Therapy is a New Orleans based non-profit that provides high quality, community-based art therapy services to improve access and reduce systemic barriers to mental health services. Our team of highly qualified art therapists provide a wide variety of services, including free and sliding scale individual and group art therapy, school based art therapy services, community art making, and professional development.
Purpose of Position: To provide art therapy and other related services in unique, high-need, public schools, and help plan and facilitate art therapy events in the community or with community partners. Eighty percent of time will be spent facilitating art therapy at award-winning, innovative, small, public charter high schools in New Orleans as part of a team of art therapists. Supervision, peer supervision, and team support are built into your schedule. 
Two positions are available, serving 2 different high schools. However, based on candidates’ experience, there may be an opportunity to adjust positions within Whole Village Art Therapy to accommodate the right candidate’s interests.
Position 1 - Requirements:
  • Master’s degree in art therapy 
  • Minimum 2 years art therapy experience (may consider less than 2 years with other relevant work experiences). This position is designed for a highly qualified art therapist but responsibilities may adjust to accommodate the right candidate. 
  • Licensed or will be eligible for licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Louisiana
  • Registered Art Therapist or working to obtain ATR per guidelines of the Art Therapy Credentials Board
Position 2 - Requirements: 
  • Fluency in the Spanish language
  • Master’s degree in art therapy 
  • Minimum 2 years art therapy experience (may consider less than 2 years with other relevant work experiences). This position is designed for a highly qualified art therapist but responsibilities may adjust to accommodate the right candidate. 
  • Registered Art Therapist or working to obtain ATR per guidelines of the Art Therapy Credentials Board
Essential Duties: The top priority of these positions are to provide high quality art therapy.
Other Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Provide art therapy and counseling services to students to address various needs
  • Consult with teachers, parents, and other professionals
  • Complete clinical paperwork efficiently 
  • Prioritize necessary tasks daily and adapt to change appropriately
  • Actively participate in the growth of the organization
  • Help plan and engage community in art making events
  • Develop and manage treatment plans and other culturally appropriate therapeutic and community-building activities
  • Attend and be an active participant in case consultation and individual or group supervision
  • Help in group response to community crisis or disaster
Qualifications:
  • See education and licensing requirements listed above
  • Experience with youth who are living with trauma and emotional/mental health needs
  • Skilled in culturally appropriate understanding and interventions
  • Knowledge and belief in restorative practices
  • Strong group facilitation skills
  • Passion for working with people who come from communities that have been historically marginalized with an understanding of equitable care
  • Willingness to grow as an art therapist, artist, clinician, and person
  • Ability to adapt and learn about a variety of different populations with diverse art therapy needs
  • Ability to prioritize necessary tasks daily and adapt to change appropriately

Job Type: Full-time pay: $40,000 - $55,000 per year. Salary is commensurate with experience. This is a starting salary range. Bonuses and raises are offered frequently. Salary rate reflects cost of living in the New Orleans area.
